Book Review: Enamor by Veronica Larsen

The first step in solving a problem is recognizing there’s one to begin with. Here’s mine. My new roommate is a conceited, womanizing jerk. He pushes my buttons and drives me so crazy I want to strangle him daily.

There’s a million reasons why I should stay far away from him, the most obvious of which being that I hate him with the fire of a thousand suns.

Except that I don’t hate him.

It's a reckless game we're playing, treading the edge of an attraction so intense it might as well be a grenade.

I can't even count how many reasons I have for loving this book. The story was amazing, the pacing was amazing, the characters were AMAZING, the sexual tension was amazing. Everything was amazing. Everything. There wasn't one damn thing that I didn't like about this book. Not. One.

First of all, Enamor is funny. I was sitting in the doctor's office with our boys, waiting for their appointment and I pulled my Kindle out to read. So I'm just chugging along and I get to this one scene ... it made me laugh out loud. Now, I'm not talking about a little chuckle ... I'm talking about that loud and obnoxious, explosion type of laughter. The doctor's office waiting room was absolutely silent before "The Incident" and within .289 nanoseconds, I had 20 pairs of eyes looking at me like I had just started meowing and rubbing my face on the dude next to me. All I could do was shrug and mumble that I'm reading a great book. I was a bit mortified but it didn't matter a moment later because I was immersed back into the book and all was well.

Julia and Giles ... man, do I love these characters. Julia is this strong and snarky woman with a truckload of moxie to back her up. Watching her power through all of the things in her life and take no prisoners ... it was awesome. Talk about taking the bull by the horns ... she's who I would love to be when I grow up. And Giles. Giles is this absolutely adorable smart-ass who is ornery as hell and a cocky bastard to boot. And the two of them together?!? Shit. It was magical. There was this sexual tension surrounding Julia and Giles that you could practically feel buzzing in the air when they were together. I almost got a set of blue balls from just reading this damn book and I don't even have a set of my own! I just couldn't get enough of either of them and I was PISSED that this book wasn't 700 pages or so because I would have read it all in a day.

Since the characters were unforgettable, it's not a stretch to say that the plot of Enamor was as well. This is a book that I'll be rereading in the near future and I've already started telling people I know that they either read it or we aren't friends anymore. I need to get my hands on Larsen's other books because if they are even half as amazing as Enamor, they will be a 5 star book in my mind. Great reading experience and a great way to spend a day!
